SESSION 4 (published 02/07/2013)

  The party finds shelter from an early winter storm in a large cave.  Torvaagh smells the scent of Kobolds and "something else."  As they begin to explore the cave they are attacked by a band of white scaled Kobolds and a large Winter Wolf wearing a silver torc.  the heroes dispatch the frost breathing Kobolds with little effort, but the Winter Wolf posses a greater threat.

     After a savage battle the Winter Wolf is slain, but not before he warns the heroes that they will perish for their audacity of invading the lair of "Caltharsus."  The party moves deeper into the tunnel complex with Cassim leading the way.  Cassim fails to notice a trap that collapses a part of the wall and ceiling, droping ice and rock.  Cassim survives the trap but realizes he must be more careful when dealing with the crafty Kobolds.  Delving deeper into the tunnel, Cassim finds a chest in a shallow alcove.  Recognizing the potential of another Kobold trap, Cassim uses his Arcane Trickster abilities to open the chest from a distance.  Upon openning the chest another trap is triggered, this time magical in nature.  A hypnotic pattern spell in conjuction with an alarm spell is triggered.  The heroes are out of range of the hypnotic pattern spell, but are soon confronted with another band of Kobolds.  Again the Kobolds are quickly defeated and the party moves forward.

     Cassim scouts ahead and finds a huge chamber, the floor comprised of a frozen underground lake.  At the far end of the chamber is a make-shift ice alter with a robed Kobold chanting before it.  Cassim also sees in a corner a frozen pile of objects he believes to be treasure.  He sneaks back and informs the other heroes of what he has found.  Almost immediatley, Callista charges into the room and bull rushes the Kobold sorcerer through the ice alter, shattering it and leaving the sorcerer lying dazed in the rubble.

     Suddenly rubble and ice falls from the ceiling onto Torvaagh and the white dragon Caltharsus drops from the ceiling where he was encased in ice and appeared to be nothing more than a large stalagtite.  Caltharsus states that the heroes have sealed their own doom by invading his lair and the two forces square off for their epic battle!
