LODDFAFNIR'S HALL, PART 1 (published 03/04/2014)

The heroes travel farther into the mountains through Ullethane's pass and come to the gates of Loddfafnir's keep.  However the keep is not abandoned, for two frost giants are on the ramparts and hurl great boulders down upon the heroes.  Arrows and divine fire strike the giants down but not before one blows a great horn to sound the alarm.

During the combat Cassim manages to sneak up and open the portculis allowing the rest of the Reavers entrance.  Soon upon entering the keep proper the heroes are again beset by frost giants and winter wolves.  The Reavers fell the giants as if they were mere orcs, but suffer many wounds themselves.  Several giants flee deeper into the keep vowing Kostiche's vengence.

Cassim tracks a giant he has mortally wounded and finds him hiding in a room.  Cassim swings the door open intending to finish his prey, but like a cornered animal the giant proves a deadly adversary.  Cassim is no mere warrior though and conjures a massive wall of flame that incinerates his hapless quarry.

Meanwhile the rest of the Reavers continue to engage and dispatch the remaining giants and their winter wolf companions only to find their leader a huge Abyssal Gigas servant of Kostiche!

The massive gnarled giant rains down thunderous blows with his great hammer, but concerted onlslaught of spell and sword proves more than the great abyssal giant can withstand.  But what brought this war party of frost giants here, and what is so important that Kostiche would send one of his personal servants?
