CHALCEDON (published 01/29/2013)
"If the Tuigan has refused your payment then I claim his share. That and first choice of any gems, weapons and armor we may find."
The elf considered the gnarled duergar. She had fought against, and employed the dark dwarves on many occasions and this one was no different than the rest. He was skilled and dangerous to be sure, but as subtle as the battle axe leaning against the tavern wall beside him. She made a show of negotiating terms, but the terms didn't matter. All that mattered was completing the mission set before her by her goddess. "Very well Chalcedon, you will be compensated as you request. Prepare yourself and heed me when I say that the foes we face are more dangerous than they appear."
Chalcedon chortled with contempt and said, "There's no one on either side of this damned wall that can stand against me. I'll cut them down in the field or while they sleep in their beds, makes no difference to me!"
"Patience good dwarf, you will have your chance, but not until we are in wilds of Vaasa."
The dwarf emptied his mug and wiped the foam from his beard as he stood. "Have it your way elf, like I said, makes no difference to me."
